Mastering assertive communication is a key skill for your personal and professional goals. Learning to express your needs and speak with confidence has many benefits, such as better relationships, improved decision-making, fewer conflicts, increased productivity, and greater self-esteem. According to Caroline Miller, author of Creating Your Best Life, the three keys to assertive behavior are “knowing what you want, believing you have a right to it, and finding the courage to express it.” This interactive workshop will help you understand your communication style and you’ll learn how to strike the right balance between being too passive or too aggressive in order to listen effectively and speak with confidence.
Attendees will:
Learn about communication styles (aggressive, passive, and assertive) and take a quiz to help identify your personal tendency
Understand the individual components of assertiveness, including attitude, non-verbal communication, and verbal communication
Learn strategies to help with common challenges such as communication barriers, defensiveness, learning to say no, and giving and receiving feedback
Increase self-esteem, overcome self-doubt, and make small changes to communicate with confidence and ease
